Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir 2022
Dark, moody and sensual — just like Tom Felton in Harry Potter — this is one of the most desirable Pinot Noirs in the Felton Road range.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from the Cornish Point vineyard, a low-lying site close to Lake Dunstan in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand. Its lower altitude and proximity to the lake give the fruit a richness and density that sets it apart from Felton Road's other Pinot Noir sites, and it's typically the first Pinot picked each harvest.
Taste Profile: A slightly reserved nose as a young wine, with hints of dark fruits, raspberry, rose petal and crushed herbs. The palate is dense, with a core of dark fruit and petals and a pleasant, subtle waft of char. Serious texture and harmony give it an opulent yet refined, brooding and powerful character — a quiet, reserved wine that takes time to unfurl.
Winemaking Process: Farmed biodynamically, the fruit is fermented with a gentle, hands-off approach typical of the estate, aged in French oak to preserve the site's natural density and structure rather than mask it.
Winemaker: Felton Road was founded in 1991 when retired ophthalmologist Stewart Elms spotted north-facing schist slopes on Bannockburn's historic Felton Road and planted the Elms Vineyard. Winemaker Blair Walter built the winery from the ground up, crafting an inaugural 1997 vintage that critic Robert Parker famously said could pass for Grand Cru red Burgundy in a blind tasting. In 2000, UK entrepreneur Nigel Greening — by then Felton Road's biggest private customer in Britain and owner of the neighbouring Cornish Point orchard — bought the estate and kept Walter on as winemaker and co-owner, a partnership now in its third decade built on biodynamic farming and a deliberately hands-off approach in the cellar.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
