VC Vicentino Touriga Nacional 2020
A coastal Alentejo red from a winemaker who spent 30 years learning the region's most historic estate before starting his own.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Touriga Nacional from Alentejo, Portugal, grown in predominantly clay soils with low production potential. In Zambujeira do Mar, the Alentejo's usual heat is tempered by the Atlantic, balancing inland concentration with coastal freshness and humidity for ideal maturation.
Taste Profile: Dark ruby in colour, with dark plum, cassis and cherry aromas, hints of violet and balsamic, and subtle vanilla and spice underneath. Smooth and charming in texture, yet firm and vibrant, with freshness and elegance carrying through to a long, salty finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are handpicked into 15kg boxes. After 4 days of maceration, the wine ferments for 10 days at 24°C, then ages 11 months in 228-litre French oak barrels.
Winemaker: Vicentino is run by Antonio Ventura and his daughter Filipa, a family operation built on Antonio's 30-plus years in Alentejo winemaking, including a stint in the 1980s at Herdade do Mouchão, one of the region's most historic estates. His approach favours sustainable viticulture, minimal chemical use and cover crops to protect soil health — a philosophy suited to this cool, coastal corner of a typically hot, inland region.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
