Description
VC Vicentino Touriga Nacional 2018
VC Vicentino Touriga Nacional expresses freshness and elegance. Dark ruby colour. The nose reveals dark plum, cassis and cherry with hints of violets, balsamic and vanilla spice. Charmingly smooth texture on the firm yet vibrant palate, closing in a long salty finish.
100% Touriga Nacional. The fruit comes from vines planted in predominantly clay soils, with low production potential, allowing the grapes to bear their best attributes. In Zambujeira do Mar, where the high temperatures of the Alentejo are mitigated by the Atlantic, the concentration typical of inland viticulture is balanced by the freshness and humidity of the sea, leading to ideal maturation.
Handpicking of the grapes into 15kg boxes. After 4 days of maceration, the wine ferments for 10 days at 24ºC. Ages in 228 litre French oak barrels for 11 months.
