The wine named after a restless English Pointer, from a single 88-year-old field-blend vineyard that started it all.
Grape Varietals & Region: A field blend of more than 40 indigenous grape varieties from an 88-year-old vineyard in Cima Corgo, Pinhão Valley, Vale de Mendiz, in Portugal's Douro region.
Taste Profile: An intense purple colour. Complex, sophisticated and harmonious, opening with pure, rich notes of black cherry, blackcurrant, florals and spice. Full-bodied, deep and round on the palate, balanced by notable acidity and focused fine tannins, with ripe black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours, expressive minerality and a terrific savoury finish.
Winemaking Process: Harvested in the second week of September, the grapes undergo careful selection and destemming before being foot-trodden in stone lagares over a 10-day fermentation. The wine ages and completes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels for 20 months.
Winemaker: Wine & Soul was founded in 2001 by Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, a young couple with no vineyards and no wine, but a shared dream to seek out exceptional old Douro sites. Sandra became the Douro's first female winemaker after training at Quinta do Vale D. Maria and her family's Chocapalha estate, while Jorge, a fifth-generation Douro winemaker, previously worked as oenologist at Niepoort. Their first wine, Pintas, was named after the couple's restless English Pointer.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
