Chaffey Bros “Superbarossa” Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Both polite and rock'n'roll, like an accountant surfer in double-breasted pinstripes and thongs.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 59% Shiraz and 41% Cabernet Sauvignon. The backbone (68%) comes from the blue-chip Ehrat vineyard on Krondorf Road, Eden Valley, where dry-grown Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grow side by side; the remainder is Shiraz from Northern Eden Valley and two vineyards in Light Pass and Stockwell.
Taste Profile: Textured and multidimensional — honest, pure, rich red goodness. Magnificently rich plummy and inky black berry fruit and cassis, with hints of liquorice, dark chocolate and oak spicing up its fruity character.
Winemaking Process: Fruit from each vineyard is fermented separately, with gentle extraction to preserve texture, before blending and ageing 13–18 months in oak to round out the structure without masking the fruit.
Winemaker: Chaffey Bros Wine Co was founded in 2008 by Eden Valley-born Daniel Chaffey Hartwig, soon joined by brother-in-law Theo Engela. The name nods to the original Chaffey brothers — Canadian hydro engineers who arrived in Australia in 1886 and helped shape the country's early irrigation and wine industry. Barossa born and bred, Hartwig spent 11 years as a wine consultant to some of Australia's leading winemakers before striking out on his own, and today runs the winery with Engela, blending a shared passion for perfumery, history and innovative winemaking into low-yield Barossa and Eden Valley fruit.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
