Organic farming here means letting weeds fight the vines for water, on purpose.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Gris, from Loveblock's certified-organic estate vineyard, the Triangle, in Lower Dashwood, Marlborough, New Zealand, on alluvial silt over stone soils. Organic management decreases vine vigour, reducing berry size and overall yields, and forces the vines to compete with wild flowers and grasses for resources — a deliberate stress that keeps ripeness in check at lower sugar levels, so the finished wine avoids becoming overly alcoholic.
Taste Profile: Pale yellow with golden touches. Elegant aromas of rock melon, pear cider and grass lead the nose. Dry and medium-bodied on the palate, with linear acidity, a lingering mouthfeel and fruity flavours — Asian pear and lemon with a touch of tinned peach, rock melon and flinty minerality.
Winemaking Process: Once physiologically ripe, the fruit is machine-harvested and pressed immediately through membrane presses, with no field preservatives used, in order to protect the grape's natural phenolics. The juice is floated and inoculated, then cool-fermented with organic yeast to optimise the aromatics, with fermentation ending once the wine reaches balance.
Winemaker: Loveblock is the second act of Erica and Kim Crawford, the couple who built Kim Crawford Wines into one of New Zealand's biggest export brands before selling it to Constellation in 2006. A non-compete clause kept them out of winemaking until 2009, during which time they quietly developed a farm on Marlborough's east coast; when they finally launched Loveblock in 2014, they left the old virtual-winery model behind entirely, converting the property to certified organic farming from the ground up.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
