Elegant, fresh and fruity — a grape whose name recalls Tramin, the village where this aromatic style was born.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Traminer (also known as Gewürztraminer) from San Foca, planted on gravelly soils in Trevenezie, Italy. The name comes from the German "Gewürz" (spiced, from "würzen," to season) and the dialectal form of "Tramin," the South Tyrolean village where this pink-berried grape variety originated.
Taste Profile: Brilliant straw yellow, with a unique, intense, elegant and sophisticated bouquet: floral, fruity and mineral aromas give way to sweet flower and fruit scents like jasmine and exotic fruit. On the palate, refinement and harmony express all the balance, thanks to a combination of natural acidity and freshness with silky, round sensations, enhancing the typical aromas that linger on a long finish.
Winemaking Process: After crushing and destemming, an 8-hour cold pre-fermentative maceration at 2-3°C is followed by a gentle pressing with 60% run juice yield. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation runs for 14 days under controlled temperature of 12°C, followed by 5 months of ageing in stainless steel and a further 3 months of bottle refinement.
Winemaker: Italo Cescon founded his winery in Ormelle, in the Piave area of Treviso province, in 1957, following the path of his grandfather Domenico, a Raboso del Piave producer. Where most local growers sold in bulk, Italo chose from the start to bottle his entire production, earning a loyal following among the osterie and restaurants of Treviso thanks partly to the estate's distinctive Tralcetto bottle and rustic, hand-written label. After flood damage to the Piave river in 1967, the family relocated to their current farm in Roncadelle, and the estate has since grown to around 110 hectares, 16 of which converted to organic farming in 2009. Since the 1990s, Italo's children Gloria, Graziella and Domenico have carried the winery forward with the same drive their father instilled in them.

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
