"The path to church" — a vineyard villagers have walked past on their way to Sunday mass for generations.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling from Geyerhof's Ried Kirchensteig vineyard, regarded as one of the best sites on the southern side of the Danube. Southwest-facing at 280–285 metres altitude, the vineyard takes its name — "the path to church" — from the villagers who have strolled past it on their way to Sunday service for many years. The vines root into a thin layer of topsoil over very poor granulite soils beneath, a cool, austere setting that lets Riesling unfurl its full potential.
Taste Profile: Taut and elegant, full of finesse. Gold-coloured in the glass, with fine peach aromas, mandarin orange and tangerine peel, and a hint of herbaceous spice on the nose. Elegant and juicy on the palate, with good minerality, fresh acidity and a big honeycomb texture — ripe mandarin and lime flavours alongside a generous dose of peach and honey. Excellent ageing potential.
Winemaking Process: Manual harvesting of the fruit in small boxes at the start of November, followed by whole-bunch pressing. Slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with ageing on full lees for 19 months. Vegan.
Winemaker: Geyerhof is run by winemaker Ilse Maier, who took over her family's Kremstal estate and converted it to organic and biodynamic farming. She works the poor, rocky granulite soils of single sites like Steinleithn and Kirchensteig with a light touch, favouring late harvesting, low yields and long lees ageing over intervention — an approach that's made Geyerhof one of the region's most respected names for terroir-driven Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
