Italo Cescon TesiRare Grigioramato Pinot Grigio "macerato" 2020
The TesiRare is a biodynamic & minimal intervention series from Italo Cescon, focused on preserving the purity of the vine.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Grigio, averaging 30 years old vines from gravelly soils in Veneto, Italy
Taste Profile: Coppery, orange in colour, slightly hazy due to lack of filtration. The initial protagonists are the aromas of citrus fruits, grapefruit and mandarin, gradually giving way to hints of ripe apricot, liquorice, light notes of mint and pine. On the palate it is full and enveloping, fresh, with delicate tannins and a mineral finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand picked grapes which are crushed, destemmed and undergo maceration, fermentation & maturing for 95 days in amphora with indigenous yeasts on it's own skins. Afterwhich, wines are racked and ageing for another 90 days in amphora, before being aged for another 120 days in barrels. The wine is then bottled unfiltered & rested before release
