Chamisal Vineyards San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir 2022
Bright, early-drinking Pinot Noir from the vineyard that started it all in Edna Valley.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir sourced across San Luis Obispo County, anchored by Chamisal's own estate vineyard — the first ever planted in the Edna Valley, back in 1973 — a cool-climate site just five miles from the Pacific Ocean with a long, coastally-influenced growing season.
Taste Profile: A bright ruby colour with aromas of dark cherry, black raspberry and baking spices. Fruit-forward and complex on the palate, balanced by subtle acidity and supple tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked from estate vineyards and fermented in small batches, with partial carbonic maceration used to lift exuberant aromatics and lively red fruit character. The wine is aged 11 months in French oak barrels, adding subtle notes of vanilla and spice.
Winemaker: Chamisal's wines are made by Fintan du Fresne, who grew up in New Zealand's North Island and studied geology at Victoria University of Wellington before a postgraduate degree in Viticulture and Enology at Lincoln University. Time spent in Tuscany, Burgundy, the Rhône Valley and Provence shaped his approach, which favours freshness and early approachability over long cellaring.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
