Willi Schaefer Graacher Riesling Feinherb Qualitätswein 2022
The freshness of spring and the fruits of fall.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling, predominantly from the Himmelreich vineyard in Graach, Mosel — though from different parcels than Willi Schaefer's dry bottling. Feinherb isn't an officially recognised style, but it's the right word for this dry-to-off-dry Riesling: barely sweeter than the dry version, but noticeably fruitier.
Taste Profile: Astonishing finesse and slatey intensity for a village wine. Bright and refined on a fresh, pure nose of white peach intertwined with discreetly flinty slate. Round and lush on the palate — intense and textured, with ripe, elegant acidity, though without quite the sharpness and precision of the dry Graacher. The finish is mouth-filling, fruity and delicately acidic, with good length.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed as whole clusters, and ferment and age spontaneously in large old Fuder barrels.
Winemaker: Weingut Willi Schaefer is a small family winery in Graach an der Mosel dating back to 1590. The estate produces exclusively Riesling — the only variety, the family believes, that does justice to their weathered Devonian slate soils — from parcels in Graacher Domprobst, Graacher Himmelreich and Wehlener Sonnenuhr, some on vines up to 100 years old and still ungrafted. A member of the VDP, the estate is prized for wines that stay elegant, transparent and long-lived.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
