Gentle Folk "Rainbow Juice" 2022
A playful field blend from two marine scientists who traded seaweed for soil.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris, grown organically and biodynamically across Gareth and Rainbo Belton's plots in Basket Range, Norton Summit, Summertown and Ashton — a cool-climate patchwork of sites high in South Australia's Adelaide Hills, farmed without chemicals.
Taste Profile: Refreshing and zesty, with aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and a hint of spice. Lively and juicy on the palate, with flavours of grapefruit, green apple and a touch of minerality, finishing crisp with a hint of salinity.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and fermented using native yeasts, then aged 6 months in old oak barrels. The wine is unfiltered and unfined, left to show a true expression of terroir and winemaking philosophy.
Winemaker: Gareth and Rainbo Belton both hold PhDs in phycology, the study of marine plants, before trading the lab for the vineyard. Gareth started Gentle Folk with the 2013 vintage, making just three barrels of wine in a corner of fellow Basket Range winemaker James Erskine's shed, drawn into the Adelaide Hills' natural wine scene by mentors like Anton van Klopper, James Erskine and Tom Shobbrook. Today the pair farm around eight hectares themselves across five sites, still hands-on, still a family operation.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
