Pierre Lamy Saint-Aubin 'Les Frionnes' Blanc 1982
A library bottling from Saint-Aubin, the Chardonnay-growing village next door to Montrachet that the Lamy family has farmed since the 1600s.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from vines grown in Saint-Aubin, a village in the southern Côte de Beaune — the heartland of great white Burgundy — and a close neighbour of Montrachet. The vines grow in white clay soils with high limestone content on steep, east-southeast-facing slopes between 300 and 350 metres altitude.
Taste Profile: Clear and bright, with a golden yellow hue and greenish tints. A charming, expressive nose of ripe fruit, warm brioche, fresh butter and a pleasantly integrated woodiness carries through to an elegant palate with an extremely delicate texture, closing in a majestic finish.
Winemaking Process: Vinification and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by 10 months' ageing in oak barrels. Cold stabilisation and filtering before bottling.
Winemaker: Families named Lamy have farmed vines in Saint-Aubin since at least 1640, making it one of the region's oldest winegrowing surnames — long before Saint-Aubin's whites earned the recognition they have today as a relatively affordable route into serious white Burgundy. This 1982 bottling of Les Frionnes captures that old-guard Saint-Aubin style: built for patience, on land the family has worked for generations.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
