German engineering meets 8,000 years of Georgian winemaking tradition — fermented the old way, in buried clay eggs.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Saperavi from vines over 50 years old, in Kakheti, Georgia.
Taste Profile: A superb wine with intense, ripe flavours, elegantly dressed in a juicy frame. Here the ancient Georgian expertise really shows — an exquisite bottle for fans of strong, complex reds.
Winemaking Process: Made using the traditional, millennia-old Kakheti method: fermenting the grapes for 21 days in qvevri, an egg-shaped terracotta vessel buried in the ground, then ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels without adding commercial yeast. Bottled without filtration.
Winemaker: Schuchmann Wines was founded in 2008 by Burkhard Schuchmann, a German industrialist who first travelled to Georgia as a student and fell for the country outright. He returned years later to build an ultra-premium winery in Tsinandali, pairing traditional Georgian winemaking — most notably qvevri fermentation — with German technical rigour. The estate now farms 120 hectares across three vineyard sites (Napareuli, Tsinandali and Kindzmarauli) and produces around 400,000 bottles a year, more than a third of them made the traditional qvevri way.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
