Takes Grenache to another level of style.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Grenache from a single vineyard of gnarly, 88-year-old vines in Vine Vale/Light Pass, Northern Barossa, South Australia — likely some of the earliest Grenache planted in the Barossa. Owned by Kevin Schild, the sandy-soiled vineyard sits between the Vine Vale and Marananga parishes.
Taste Profile: Energetic and unashamedly delicious. Semi-translucent dark red with a crimson hue, an exciting burst of fresh cranberry, ripe red cherry and a faint whiff of liquorice spice. Youthful and full of tension and savoury complexity, with a velvety mouthfeel interwoven with tannins, carrying crunchy red fruit — cranberry, redcurrant, raspberry, cherry — with a hint of vanilla and liquorice spice through a long, succulent, spicy finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked, then fermented in open fermenters with 33% whole bunches, cold-soaked for 24 hours before natural yeasts take over. A further 6 days of maceration follows, then pressing into large-format second- and third-use French puncheons (500L) for just three months before bottling, unfined and unfiltered.
Winemaker: Chaffey Bros Wine Co. was founded in 2008 by Barossa-born Daniel Chaffey Hartwig, the latest in a Chaffey winemaking line stretching back five generations, soon joined by brother-in-law Theo Engela. Raised around Penfolds, where his parents worked, and having spent over a decade consulting for some of Australia's leading winemakers before striking out alone, Hartwig built the label around a self-described 'New Wave Barossa' style that leans into the region's aromatic, textural side.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
