Pietro Zardini "Pietro Junior" Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2021
A Ripasso finished on the skins of the estate's own Amarone, for extra weight and concentration.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 65% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 10% Molinara from Pietro Zardini's vineyards in the province of Verona, Veneto. The vines grow in predominantly red and dark soils rich in debris, calcareous marl and basalt.
Taste Profile: Full-bodied, rich and velvety. An intense nose of black fruit, mocha and tobacco leads into a smooth, concentrated palate that closes in a long, luscious finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked into trays, then made in the traditional Valpolicella style with an additional 30 days of contact with the marc left over from the estate's own Amarone. The wine ages around 2 years in oak barrels and barriques.
Winemaker: The Zardini family farms its Valpolicella vineyards around Verona with an emphasis on traditional technique, using their own Amarone pomace to give this Ripasso — named "Pietro Junior" for the estate's next generation — its extra richness and structure.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
