Friuli's own native red, made from grapes most of the world has never heard of.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, a native Friulian variety grown in La Roncaia's vineyards in Colli Orientali del Friuli, Italy.
Taste Profile: Deep garnet red tinged with ruby. Intense and complex, with earthy scents recalling wild essences and wild berries, spicy and toasted fragrances building to ethereal perfumes. Warm, velvety and tannic on the palate, with great body, intensity and lasting persistence.
Winemaking Process: After a late harvest, part of the grapes are carefully raisined for about 8 weeks. Destemmed but not crushed, the grapes macerate 25 to 30 days at controlled temperature, then age at least 24 months in new and once-used barriques, racked every 90–100 days. After blending, the wine ages a further 6 months in bottle, horizontally.
Winemaker: La Roncaia has been part of the Fantinel family's portfolio since 1998, when they acquired the estate to build a boutique winery in Friuli Colli Orientali — continuing a winemaking story that began in 1969, when restaurateur Paron Mario bought his first vineyards in nearby Collio.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
