Orin Swift Cellars Machete 2018
The baddest wine of them all — Machete takes no prisoners.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache, with quality individual lots sourced from prominent vineyards across California.
Taste Profile: Violet ink colour. A forward nose of black plum, cassis and cacao leads into a robust entry of blackberry and boysenberry compote, layered with a reduction of dark plum, ripe fig and pure Amarena cherry. Flashes of vanilla and traces of minerality evolve into chalky tannins and a smooth, lingering finish.
Winemaking Process: Built to elevate Petite Sirah to the main stage — showcasing how brawny and delicate the grape can be at once — the blend ages 10 months in French oak, 40% new.
Winemaker: Orin Swift Cellars was founded in 1998 by a then 24-year-old Dave Phinney, who named the winery for his father's middle name (Orin) and his mother's maiden name (Swift). His breakout came with The Prisoner in 2000, after which Phinney built a run of unconventional blends wrapped in darkly artful, gothic labels that have made him one of Napa's most recognisable names.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
