Envínate "Benje" Blanco 2021
A fascinating volcanic white from free-standing vines a kilometre above the Atlantic.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Listán Blanco from vineyards in Santiago del Teide, high on the northwestern volcanic slopes of Tenerife. These free-standing vines are planted at around 1,000 metres altitude in an Atlantic climate with average rainfall of 550mm, farmed organically and worked by hand.
Taste Profile: Complex and intense aromas of smoky volcanic notes wrapping around waxy quince, preserved lemon and olive. The aromas follow through to a briny, salty mineral palate with zippy acidity.
Winemaking Process: Harvested by hand, with separate vinification of each parcel in a mix of concrete tanks and open tub. 75% of the fruit is pressed directly off the skins, 25% undergoes skin contact for 14–40 days. The wine ages on fine lees for 8 months in 60% concrete and 40% old French barriques, with no battonage or sulphur; a little bentonite is used for clarification, with no filtering before bottling.
Winemaker: Envínate was founded in 2005 by four friends who met studying enology in Alicante — Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos and José Martínez. Roberto's native Tenerife drew the team to the Canary Islands, where they now work centuries-old, ungrafted volcanic vineyards with strictly minimal-intervention methods, alongside projects elsewhere in Spain.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
