Momento Mori "The Incline" Syrah 2022
Even the winemaker calls this his favourite — a steep-site Syrah co-fermented with a splash of white grapes.
Grape Varietals & Region: Syrah with about 5% Nosiola, from Heathcote, Victoria, Australia, farmed organically by husband-and-wife team Dane and Hannah Johns.
Taste Profile: Decant to let most of the earthy hints blow off, then enjoy the mouth-filling mid-weight fruit. Subtle yet mouth-coating tannins, with lots of red and blue fruit and bright acidity lifted by the Nosiola component. Best enjoyed around 8°C.
Winemaking Process: Small, hands-on ferments following strict organic principles, with no added sulphites or preservatives, in keeping with Momento Mori's minimal-intervention house style.
Winemaker: Momento Mori is the small-scale project of Dane and Hannah Johns in Gippsland, Victoria. Dane spent two decades as a barista before gaining winemaking experience with innovative winemaker Adam Marks at Bress Winery, then travelled through Europe working with wineries he admired. The name, Latin for "remember that you will die," reflects their philosophy of making wine with respect for the living.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
