Cantina Lavis Nosiola Trentino DOC 2023
Trentino's native white grape, saved from near-extinction by growers who never stopped believing in it.
Grape Varietals & Region: The unique white Nosiola grape is native to Trentino and finds its true home on the hillsides of Pressano and the Cembra Valley. In its historic production area on the marl-rich soils of Pressano, Nosiola develops a unique aroma and structure. The vineyard faces south, south-west, at 400m altitude, on soil that is partly silty, fertile and moderately deep, and partly porphyritic, loose and fairly shallow. Nosiola's name is thought to come from the local dialect word "nosela" for its hazelnut notes, or from the crunchy, golden character of its berries — a grape all but confined to Trentino, and rarely seen anywhere else.
Taste Profile: The wine is pale yellow in colour with pastel green tints, exuding floral suggestions of rose petals, lychee and jasmine, with a curious note of hazelnut. It is full and persistent on the palate, with just the right acidity.
Winemaking Process: The grapes are manually harvested in early October, with soft pressing in an inert environment, static decantation of the must and fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages on the lees for approximately 5–6 months before bottling.
Winemaker: Cantina Lavis is a growers' cooperative founded in 1948 by just 14 farmers along the Avisio river in Trentino; today more than 800 grower families — each tending an average of just one hectare — pool their fruit here, a structure that lets small indigenous varieties get the same care as the valley's flagship Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
