Pietro Zardini "Pietro Junior" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2021
Named for his grandfather, made in a Valpolicella family line that stretches back to the 1600s.
Grape Varietals & Region: 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Molinara from Pietro Zardini's high hillside vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico zone, Veneto, where the vines grow in red and brown soils over detritus, marl and basalt.
Taste Profile: Intense ruby red with garnet tints. A refined nose of plum, vanilla, coffee, cacao and spice. Elegant and full-bodied on the palate — warm, enveloping and balanced by solid tannins, with flavours of brandy-soaked plum, cherry, chocolate powder, coffee and black pepper closing in a persistent finish. Drink now or hold for up to 10–12 years from vintage.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-selected and picked into trays, then dried for 3–4 months before traditional fermentation on the skins with 4–5 weeks of maceration. The wine ages in oak barrels and barriques for 3 years, then rests in steel and bottle before release.
Winemaker: The Zardini family's Valpolicella winemaking roots trace back to the early 1600s and founder Leonardo Zardini. Generations later, Pietro Zardini founded his own cellar in 2000, dedicating it to his grandfather Pietro — whose oxen were once famous across Valpolicella for their strength — and naming his Amarone Riserva for his father Leone. Pietro began working alongside established Verona wineries at just 19, building an approach that balances respect for tradition with room for new ideas.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
