Pietro Zardini "Pietro Junior" Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOC 2017
Named for the estate's founder's grandfather and only made in the best vintages, from a family that's grown vines in the same corner of Valpolicella since the 1600s.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara from the Zardini family's own vineyards in Valpolicella, Veneto — including the Monte Mattonara site in San Floriano and Valfiorita in Negrar, reserved for the winery's Riserva bottlings and made only in the best vintages.
Taste Profile: Concentrated fruit notes reminiscent of plum confit and dried grapes on the nose, with the full structure emerging on the palate — rich fruit, power and expression, plus intense aromas of ripe fruit, spice, cocoa and hints of coffee. Harmonious and well-structured, with fine oak tones and ripe fruit carrying through a long finish.
Winemaking Process: Only grapes from the best vineyard sites go into this wine, and only the best barriques in the cellar are selected for the final Riserva blend — a first-class, powerful style of Amarone.
Winemaker: The Zardini family's winemaking story starts in the early 1600s with forefather Leonardo Zardini in Valpolicella Classico. Each generation left its mark — Giacinto for his determination, Pietro for the powerful oxen he raised, Leone whose spirit inspired this very Riserva — before the modern cellar was founded in 2000 by current custodian Pietro Zardini, the fifth-generation vigneron, in tribute to his own grandfather Pietro. The Riserva project itself launched in 2003, built entirely from hand-picked fruit off the family's best sites.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
