"Aventura por amor" — an American winemaker followed love to Aragon and built a winery around the region's fierce winds.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 25% Garnacha Tinta, 25% Garnacha Tintorera, 25% Syrah and 25% Graciano, essentially a Spanish homage to the Northern Rhône. The grapes come from a selection of vineyards at 600–700 metres above sea level with clay-based soils in Campo de Borja, Aragon, Spain — a region just southeast of Rioja named for the strong, near-constant "Cierzo" winds that can reach 50 km/h through the Ebro River Valley, and the same winds the winery takes its name from. The vines are more than 30 years old, dry-farmed bush vines, hand-harvested with minimal intervention.
Taste Profile: A beautiful deep ruby colour, with pronounced perfumed aromas of red and black berries alongside spicy notes of thyme, lavender and crushed black pepper. Juicy, running smoothly along the palate with soft, ripe tannins and a delicate balance. Graciano, Garnacha Tintorera and Syrah lend spiciness and peppery character, while the old-vine Garnacha brings juicy, rich concentration to balance the tannins. Light at only 13% alcohol — an easy daily drinker built for long sips and long conversations at the table.
Winemaking Process: Fermentation and maturation take place on fine lees in large concrete vats.
Winemaker: Vinos del Viento is the project of Michael Cooper, a winemaker originally from Santa Barbara who met his wife Rosario, from Zaragoza, while both were living in Rome. Smitten with the wines and landscapes of her home region — the Garnacha country of southern Aragon — Cooper followed her back and the two built their own winery together in Campo de Borja, an adventure he calls "Aventura por amor," the same name given to this wine.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
