Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Named Australia's Best four times in the last seven years by the National Wine Show of Australia — the bottle Xanadu holds the most pride in.
Grape Varietals & Region: Cabernet Sauvignon from Xanadu's vineyards in Margaret River, Western Australia, typically rounded out with small amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot.
Taste Profile: Dark purple colour with a crimson rim. Aromas of blackcurrant, crushed cassis, mint, new leather and spice lead into a refined, polished palate with rounded tannins, medium to full body, and a lingering Cabernet finish.
Winemaking Process: Fruit is crushed and destemmed before small-batch fermentation in a combination of static and open fermenters over 7–8 days at 24–26°C, with the cap managed through a mix of aerative pump-overs and hand plunging. A portion of the wine undergoes extended maceration on skins before very gentle pressing, then matures 14 months in French oak, around 40% new, before the final blend is assembled.
Winemaker: Xanadu was founded in 1977 by Irish doctor John Lagan, who moved to Margaret River with his wife Eithne in 1968 and, inspired by the pioneering spirit of the young region, planted his first vines. He named the estate after Samuel Taylor Coleridge's Xanadu in Kubla Khan, drawn to the parallel between Margaret River and Coleridge's utopian city. The winery's Cabernet Sauvignon went on to win the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy, one of Australia's most coveted wine honours; the estate has been owned by the Rathbone family since 2005.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
