Puchang Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Grown in a Gobi desert oasis nicknamed "Fire Island," where pests can't survive and vines have made wine for 2,000 years.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Puchang Vineyard in the Turpan Valley, Xinjiang, China, near the Tianshan Mountains — a basin so hot it's locally nicknamed the "Fire Island." The desert terroir and Gobi sand keep pest pressure almost nonexistent, letting the estate farm organically almost by default.
Taste Profile: Smooth and supple through to the finish. Ruby red with garnet shades, an intense, concentrated bouquet of ripe berries and rich black fruit, and a full-bodied palate of ripe black cherry and plum with hints of raisin and forest floor. Ready now, but built to last 2–25 years.
Winemaking Process: Farmed under organic management in a climate so harsh that pests rarely survive, meaning the fruit reaches the winery with minimal need for chemical intervention.
Winemaker: Puchang Vineyard was first planted in 1975, one of the oldest commercial vineyards in the region, but only began developing seriously in 2008 when Hong Kong businessman K.K. Cheung bought the estate. Winemakers Loris Tartaglia — Siena University-trained, with experience across the US, New Zealand, South America, South Africa and Europe — and William Thomas now farm roughly 67 hectares here, drawing on a winemaking heritage in this part of Xinjiang that stretches back some 2,000 years.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
