Torbato (Turbat)
Torbato is a white grape variety primarily grown in Sardinia, Italy. The grape is believed to be of Spanish origin and is also known as "Turbat" or "Turbato".
The wine made from Torbato is typically dry, crisp, and refreshing with a medium to full body and moderate acidity. It often has floral and citrus aromas with flavors of green apple, pear, and mineral notes. Torbato is typically grown in the Alghero region of Sardinia, where it is used to make both still and sparkling wines. The grape is also used in blends with other Sardinian white grapes such as Vermentino.
In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in Torbato and efforts to preserve its cultivation and winemaking traditions.
