Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cabernet Franc from Saumur-Champigny in the Loire Valley, France
Sourced from younger vines (average 25 years old) grown on clay, sand, and limestone
Taste Profile: Expressive nose featuring black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and floral blossom, often with an underlying earthy or flinty minerality. Refined and harmonious with abundant fruit, velvety tannins, and a precise, vibrant finish
Winemaking Process: The wine is made with native yeasts and no filtration or fining. It typically spends 18 months in used oak barrels (barriques). Some of these barrels are famously sourced from Clos Rougeard and Haut-Brion.

Winemaking wunderkind Sylvain Dittière founded La Porte Saint Jean in 2010, when he was just 24 years old. A starstudded internship list is where he honed skills. Building the domaine from ground up, he now has about 15 acres of prime Saumur terroir.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
