A gastronomic, premium single-plot Alvarinho with great balance and minerality, from the winemaker who put Vinho Verde on the fine-wine map.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Alvarinho from a single vineyard plot in Vinho Verde, Portugal, off old vines planted in granite soils.
Taste Profile: Made from a single vineyard that produces a crisp and unique grape, Parcela Única reveals fruit, acidity and minerality in perfect harmony thanks to its barrel ageing — a gastronomic Alvarinho with great balance and minerality.
Winemaking Process: After a manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must is cold clarified and then fermented in 400-litre French oak barrels for 9 months with periodic bâtonnage.
Winemaker: Anselmo Mendes grew up in Monção around his parents' small vineyard before studying agronomy in Lisbon and specialising in winemaking in Portugal and France. He worked for negociant house Borges in Porto and consulted for estates including Gaivosa in the Douro and Ameal in Vinho Verde, before striking out on his own in 1998 with rented grapes in the Monção e Melgaço zone. His focus on a bone-dry, mineral, serious style — a radical departure from Vinho Verde's light, fizzy reputation — won him Winemaker of the Year from Revista de Vinhos and the nickname "Mr. Alvarinho." He now farms around 130 hectares across Vinho Verde's sub-regions, specialising in Alvarinho from Monção e Melgaço, Loureiro from Lima and Avesso from Baião.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
