South Africa's only high-altitude, posted-vine Pinot Noir goes into this Franschhoek sparkling blend.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 59% Chardonnay and 41% Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir comes mainly from L'Ormarins in Franschhoek, with smaller portions from Altima in Elandskloof — South Africa's only Pinot Noir vineyard at such high altitude, trained using the posted-vine (stok-by-paaltjie) method — plus Darling and Robertson. The Chardonnay is drawn mainly from L'Ormarins' Rooderust farm near Darling, on decomposed shale and clay Oakleaf soils, with smaller portions from Franschhoek and Robertson.
Taste Profile: Poised and elegant with a lingering aftertaste — like an apple and cinnamon tart with biscuity nuances. Bright, vivacious and crisp, with fine bubbles and a harmonious balance of acidity and fruit; tangy lime and green apple are smoothed by creamy lees notes of biscuit and sourdough.
Winemaking Process: Both varieties are hand-picked in the early morning at 18–20°C, then whole-bunch pressed. After primary fermentation and lees ageing, the base wine is filtered, sweetened and bottled with yeast for a long second fermentation — 2 to 4 years on lees — before disgorgement, dosage and a further 3 months' rest ahead of release.
Winemaker: L'Ormarins is part of the Anthonij Rupert Wines portfolio in Franschhoek, drawing fruit from some of the Cape's more unusual sites — including Altima, the country's only high-altitude, posted-vine Pinot Noir vineyard — to build this traditional-method blend.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
