A single grey-slate parcel farmed by the fifth Clemens in a row.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling from the Rothenpfad parcel of the Marienburg vineyard, directly below the former Marienburg monastery in Germany's Mosel, where grey slate dominates the soil and vines replanted around 1988 have now reached good age.
Taste Profile: Exquisite finesse, with intense aromas of ripe stone fruit — peach and apricot — alongside delicate floral and mineral notes. Vibrant acidity balances a rich, textural mouthfeel, with citrus, orchard fruit and slate-driven minerality through a long, precise finish.
Winemaking Process: Farmed biodynamically, hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted, then gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in large oak barrels, ageing on the lees for added complexity and texture.
Winemaker: Clemens Busch is the fifth generation of winemakers named Clemens at this Mosel estate, which dates to 1663. He began working the family's 2-hectare vineyard in 1975 and, after inheriting it with his wife Rita in 1984, became one of the first winemakers in Germany to commit to organic viticulture, stopping herbicide use as early as 1976 — the estate has been certified biodynamic since 1986. Most of their fruit comes from the Pündericher Marienburg, where they now own 16 of the vineyard's 25 hectares, separating parcels by the colour of the underlying slate: red, grey and blue. Their son Johannes took over the estate in 2022.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
