Located in the heart of Bourgogne, Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy that has produced exceptional wine for almost 200 years. Now in its seventh generation, the Nuits-Saint-Georges situated domaine has been passed down through the Faiveley family since its establishment in 1825. Their practice of buying premium land over the span of seven generations means that they've grown to own exceptional climats in the most prestigious Crus: Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Mazis-Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Latricières-Chambertin, Musigny, Echézeaux and Clos Vougeot. Best known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, Domaine Faiveley has earned a reputation as one of Burgundy's finest and most trusted in producing rare and precious wines.
Domaine Faiveley's values are immersed in the Bourgogne region's history and culture, and have remained unchanged since their beginning. Their rigorous yet ethical methods of viticulture are informed by an instinctive passion and deep respect for the terroirs. Precise vinification and ageing techniques that mix traditional and modern winemaking methods are the key to Domaine Faiveley's ability to produce such distinctive, fine wines. Modern barrel presses and custom wooden vats are combined with long ageing in deep 19th century cellars to produce deep and rich wines with excellent ageing potential. Although alluring and elegant in their youth, the true personality of Faiveley wines are only revealed after several years in a bottle.
Although Domaine Faiveley makes 80% of its wines from grapes grown in their domaine, the Faiveley family also runs a 'négociant' business. True to their merchant roots, the Faiveley family has formed close relationships with numerous Burgundian families and vineyards over the years, whom they purchase from in order to access the very best fruit and vine parcels. These grapes are treated with the same respect and care as those grown at the Faiveley domaines and sold under the 'Joseph Faiveley' label. This label represents the second generation of the family and continues to use its signature strict and rigorous grape selection process to produce fine wines that combine strength, finesse and elegance.
