Chubini Wine Cellar
Founded in 2016 by Tornike Chubinidze, Chubini Wine Cellar is a small family-run winery producing natural and authentic Qvevri wines.
At the age of 25, Tornike moved from capital of Georgia, Tbililsi, to the Kakheti village Shilda to start building his own winery. In September 2016, Chubini crushed its first grapes. In 2017 the first vintage was bottled. Within their first year, Chubini wines were exported to 4 countries on 3 continents.
Chubini’s production is quite limited, paying more attention to quality rather than quantity. Endemic Georgian grape varieties, unique method of Qvevri winemaking, natural and organic approach – these are the characteristics that make their wines special.
Chubini offers their guests three main wine varieties and chacha:
- Saperavi - Qvevri dry red wine
- Rkatsiteli - Qvevri dry amber wine
- Rkatsiteli Chinuri - Qvevri dry amber wine
- Chacha - traditional Georgian pomace brandy
They also offer culinary master classes:
- Khinkali making
- Churchkela (Georgian sweet) making. (Minimum number of guests-10)
as well as lunch/dinner with traditional Georgian dishes.
