A varietal and a wine that symbolizes Sardinia, Cannonau is one of the crown jewels of Sella & Mosca. Cultivated with extra care, it enjoys the warm, sandy soils it grows in, swept clean by the prevailing northeast wind. A wine that expresses intensity and warmth, combining delicate floral and ripe fruit notes with the more classic tones of mediterranean vegetation.
Climate: Hot and dry climate with windy conditions influenced by the vineyards’ proximity to the sea
Terroir: 18 year old vineyards grow on a rocky soilbed cultivated with the spurred cordon system
Ageing: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Aged for 24 months, where at least 12 months are in big barrels
