Le Coste di Gradoli Rosso de Coccio 2019
Le Coste di Gradoli Rosso de Coccio is a ripe and elegant natural red wine. Juicy red fruit flavours bind beautifully with clay and earthy accents coming from the influence of volcanic soils and untreated amphora respectfully.
Ageing potential: To drink, can keep for 5 years.
Blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Barbera. The fruit comes from vines growing in volcanic soils that are rich in iron and minerals. The certified organic vineyard is tended to using organic and biodynamic practices. The vineyard is located near the volcanic Lake Bolsena in Gradoli, Central Italy. Sitting at an altitude of 450 metres, the vines experience a mild climate is not quite Mediterranean nor continental.
Hand harvesting the fruit. After destemming, it goes through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts in open vats and amphoras. Ages for 12 months in 500 litre amphoras. No fining, filtering, or additional sulphites.
