Description

J.B. Becker Eltviller Rheinberg Spätburgunder Spätlese Trocken 2018 is a German Pinot Noir that showcases the terroir of the Rheingau region. The wine has a beautiful ruby color with aromas of red fruits, black cherries, and spices. On the palate, it is well-structured, with a medium body, and a long, dry finish.

The grapes for this wine are hand-harvested and sorted before undergoing a traditional vinification process in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 months, which gives it a subtle hint of vanilla and a beautiful texture.

Shouldered & Powerful Reds

Powerful modern reds with the ability to age. They tend to be very intense, with ripe fruit, firm tannins & drinkability either young or cellared.

They often have notes of forest floor, blackcurrant, mint & eucalyptus

Late Harvest

By leaving the grapes on the vines longer than usual, the grapes become naturally dehydrated, and is used to make wines that are higher in resudual sugar & potential alcohol
They do not necessarily have to have noble rot, and is probably the easiest method to achieve sweet wines
