In 1877, the Italian family Queirolo emigrated to Peru. The third generation setup Intipalka, and planted noble French varietals to create high end Peruvian wines.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Tannat from the Valle de Ica in Pero. The vineyards are planted on deep loam soil at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. Being one of the driest places on the planet, with less than 20 mm of rain per year and more than 300 sunny days, the vineyards are drip irrigated and the grapes are harvested and selected by hand at the optimum point of ripeness
Taste Profile: A dark garnet color with violet tones and aromas of ripe black fruits and spices such as cloves and black pepper.
Winemaking Process: After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months
Powerful modern reds with the ability to age. They tend to be very intense, with ripe fruit, firm tannins & drinkability either young or cellared.
They often have notes of forest floor, blackcurrant, mint & eucalyptus
