Description

Gabriëlskloof Madame Lucy's Brut Sparkling Methode Cap Classique

The cheeky little bubbly, Gabriëlskloof Madame Lucy's Brut Sparkling, is perfectly groomed and made according to the traditional Methode Cap Classique - Pinot Noir (55%) and Chardonnay (45%), second ferment in bottle, and six months minimum on the lees. Simply delicious!

A traditional MCC with a delicate mousse and fine bubbles. Fresh nose with green apples, lemon zest and hearty brioche, with a vibrant and complex palate. Fresh and lively bottle that is smooth and creamy with a subtle hint of nutty notes. A perfect blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with minimum dosage and disgorged on 2 Sep 2019 after spending 6 months on the lees.
Methode Cap Classique or "MCC" denotes a South African sparkling wine made according to the traditional Champagne method, where the second fermentation takes place in the bottle. The term Cap Classique has been used in South Africa since 1992. The term was adopted to refrain from using the word "champagne". MCC are considered a premium category in South Africa and the term ‘Methode Cap Classique’ will always be written on the label to represent their classification. Made in the same way that Champagne is, South African sparkling wines offer great depth of flavours thanks to their terroir (influences of Atlantic & Indian oceans) and grape varieties.
