Dominio De La Vega Finca La Beata Bobal 2015
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Bobal from the Utiel-Requena sub-region of Valencia, Spain. A single vineyard wine from the La Beata vineyard, the Bobal comes from hundred year old vines grown on clay-calcareous soils.
Taste Profile: Very intense cherry red colour and dense tears. Great aromatic complexity, compote of ripe red and black fruit, accompanied by Mediterranean scrubland (lavender, rosemary), with a mineral and spicy background of balsamic hints. Powerful, dense, smooth and pleasant structure. Integrated acidity that highlights the olfactory phase in the mouth during its long aftertaste. Due to its great diversity in the glass, it encourages an after-dinner wine that never ceases to surprise as time goes by.
Winemaking Process: The highest quality bunches are selected on the selection table to be able to fully express their main characteristic, the terroir of these century-old vines. The grapes are macerated in barrels for a set period of time that varies from year to year. Intense and gentle manual pumping over to respect the skins as much as possible, together with daily tastings, trigger the evolution into the future wine, which ends, after a light racking, in its corresponding barrel to complete its malolactic fermentation.
Once the barrels that reflect the essence of the terroir have been selected, the Finca La Beata blend is made respecting the typical characteristics of the vintage, in order to define its profile and reflect its personality. The wine is not subjected to any physical or chemical treatment before bottling. Bottles that will rest in the silence of our cellars long enough until the appropriate evolution is achieved so that it surprises when consumed.
