Château La Fleur de Boüard Lalande-de-Pomerol 2020
Made by the co-owner of Château Angélus, on a Pomerol-adjacent hillside once farmed by the village postman.
Grape Varietals & Region: 82% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot: 18 hectares of clay with a gravel subsoil on the Néac plateau, and 11 hectares of large gravel with 15% clay.
Taste Profile: With an intense and deep colour, Fleur de Boüard offers a nose with a hint of red berries, blackcurrant and spice. The wine shows good structure in the mouth, with soft and silky tannins. Its elegance and long length make it a vintage that stands out.
Winemaking Process: Cold soaking before fermentation at 8 to 10°C, alcoholic fermentation, then 3 to 5 weeks on skins in an entirely gravity-fed vinification. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months in barrel to preserve the fruit and produce silky, elegant tannins.
Winemaker: Château La Fleur de Boüard was born when Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of the famous Château Angélus, fell for this hillside facing Pomerol's finest growths. He bought the estate — then called La Fleur Saint Georges, previously farmed by the village postman — from a French insurance company in 1998, expanding the original 25 hectares to 29. Since the 2012 vintage, the estate has been run by his daughter Coralie de Boüard, working alongside technical director Bryan Dessaint and cellar master Kinga Hars, who also works at Angélus.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
