Grape Varietals & Region: Brane-Cantenac's vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (4.5%), and Carmenere 0,5%, and lie on fine, gravelly soils. Its vineyards are located west of the village of Cantenac in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France
Taste Profile: Very expressive nose, bursting with strawberry and cherry aromas, with floral and vanilla hints. Sweet and subtle attack on the palate, very round-bodied, with a velvety texture and a long aromatic finish. Charming wine with a lot of freshness and lovely soft tannins.
Winemaking Process: Vinification includes up to 18 months of wood ageing, a third to a half in new 'barriques'.
Powerful modern reds with the ability to age. They tend to be very intense, with ripe fruit, firm tannins & drinkability either young or cellared.
They often have notes of forest floor, blackcurrant, mint & eucalyptus
