Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Mencia from Bierzo in Castilla y Leon, Spain. This comes from the La Naveda vineyard, the post-phylloxxera vines are planted on sandy-loan soils with an abundance of slate.
La Naveda comes from four small plots of Mencía grapes that form a mosaic in the area located in the village of Otero de Toral, east of Corullón, at an altitude of 550 meters. The northern orientation results in later ripening, which enhances freshness.
Taste Profile: A vibrant and fruit-forward Bierzo that has aromas of raspberries, orange rind, plums and flowers. There's a touch of white pepper, too. It's medium-bodied, pure and appealing, with crunchy tannins and bright acidity
Winemaking Process: Aged for 13 months in French barrels.
From Barolo to Bordeaux, these wines are steeped in tradition. The style covers a broad spectrum of flavor profiles, but tend to be elegant and structured and can be cellared for a long time.
These wines often have savoury tones of earth, bell pepper, tobacco, cassis, and are often medium to full bodied, with long finish & structured palattes
WINES FROM UNIQUE REGIONS & BOUTIQUE WINERIES
Founded in 2019, we were bored with the typical Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Amarone & Moscato offerings at most bars & restaurants, and were inspired to dive deeper into the wine world!
