A new Zinfandel icon built almost entirely from declassified barrels of single-vineyard wines — serious bang for the buck.
Grape Varietals & Region: 85% Zinfandel with the balance a field blend of Carignan, Mataro, Grenache, Alicante Bouschet and esoteric varieties like Aubun and Abouriou. The largest component comes from Bedrock's own 80-130-year-old vines in Sonoma Valley, California, joined by fruit from the perfumed Esola, the softer, fresher Schmiedt, and the peppery, dark-fruited Nervo Ranch vineyards.
Taste Profile: Dark crimson colour. A broody nose of black plum, red fruits, anise and pepper. Full-bodied and slightly dry on the palate, with mouth-watering acidity, medium tannins and tremendous length. Fresh, juicy blackberry, cherry and strawberry flavours with notes of vanilla, earth and pepper emerging.
Winemaking Process: Almost all of the wine consists of declassified barrels from Bedrock's vineyard-designated wines. Winemaking embraces uninoculated fermentations, native malolactic fermentation, whole clusters, and minimal handling — the wines are rarely or never fined, avoid common California additions like water and tartaric acid, and would rather use no oak than cheap oak.
Winemaker: Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson, who grew up among some of California's oldest vineyards and built the label around preserving historic field-blend sites like Bedrock Vineyard in Sonoma Valley, farming and vinifying old, mixed plantings with minimal intervention to let each site's history speak for itself.

Bedrock Wine Co. was started in 2007 by Morgan Twain-Peterson. Working out of a small converted chicken coop in a friend’s backyard, Morgan focused on making personality-filled wines wrought from a small array of thoughtfully farmed vineyards.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
