La Kiuva “Rosé de Vallée” Valle d'Aosta N.V.
A staff favourite from one of Italy's smallest wine cooperatives, made from Nebbiolo grown where they speak French.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Nebbiolo (known locally as Picotendro, from the French Picot Tendre), Gros Vien and Neyret, from a small, picturesque corner of Valle d'Aosta in northwest Italy bordering both France and Switzerland. The vineyard has sandy soil, sits at 380–500 metres altitude with a southeast exposure, and is farmed on extremely steep, terraced pergola trellises. Nebbiolo from this French-speaking part of Italy tends to be more delicate and fragrant than its Piedmontese counterpart.
Taste Profile: Beautiful pale pink colour. Intense wild berry and rose petal bouquet. Fresh and mineral, light-bodied palate with a remarkable flintiness, offering savoury, ripe and tangy red fruit flavours of strawberry, red currant, cranberry and red cherry with a delicate bitter note at the end.
Winemaking Process: Manually harvested, then given a short 12-hour maceration before fermenting without the skins at controlled temperature. Refined for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and a further 2 months in bottle.
Winemaker: La Kiuva is a growers' cooperative founded in 1975 in Arnad, in Italy's Valle d'Aosta, taking its name from the local dialect word for a sheaf of leaves gathered each autumn to feed livestock. Some 40 member-owners across seven surrounding villages farm around 60 acres of extremely steep, terraced pergola vineyards, producing roughly 100 tonnes of grapes a year from vines that would otherwise be too small and scattered to bottle individually.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
