Chateau Pajzos Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos 2017 500ML
Revived by a Bordeaux winemaker after decades under communist rule, on land classified First Growth back in 1772.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Hárslevelű, Furmint, Sárgamuskotály, Zéta and Kövérszőlő, from south/southwest-facing vineyards in the Tokaj region, Hungary. The region's hot summers and cold winters, with warm days and cold nights come autumn, sit over brown earth and clay strips mixed with andesite tuff — soil with excellent heat-retaining properties that lets the grapes ripen into supreme aszú berries, shrivelled by noble rot.
Taste Profile: Brilliant gold in colour, with a clean, bright nose of drippy honey, apricots and melon. High acidity balances beautifully against the wine's light body and residual sweetness, with layered notes of white peaches, apricot, melon, honeycomb and marzipan persisting into a long finish — sweet, complex, and built to age.
Winemaking Process: The wine ages for 3 years in 220-litre Szerednyei oak barrels from the Zemplén hills.
Winemaker: Château Pajzos was classified a First Growth in Tokaj-Hegyalha back in 1772. Its modern revival began in 1991, when Bordeaux winemaker Jean-Michel Arcaute, known for his work at Château Clinet, became the driving force behind French investment group CFGVT's purchase of land in the newly opened Tokaj region. Over the following decade, the investors gradually consolidated their holdings, eventually merging Pajzos with the neighbouring Megyer estate into a single operation dedicated to reviving the historic sweet wines of Tokaj.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
