Gallety Cuvée Gallety Blanc 2018
Gallety Cuvée Gallety Blanc can be described as "on the fruit". Incredibly aromatic nose offering notes of ripe quince, apple and flowers. Silky and rich mouthfeel carried by a nice fat acidity. The aromas follow through to the balanced, fragrant and persistent finish.
Ageing potential: Drink now or keep for 5 years.
50% Grenache Blanc, 40% Marsanne and 10% Roussane. The fruit comes from organically cultivated 40-year-old vines planted in clay-limestone soils. The vines are planted in Domaine Gallety's vineyard in Ardèche, Côtes du Vivarais, which experiences a continental climate and has an altitude of 250–350 metres. The hill the vineyards were planted on run down the western flank of the Rhône, just south of Montélimar, and mirror those of the Côtes du Rhône on the opposite bank of the river, but are cooler and wetter with a longer ripening season.
Manual harvesting of the fruit. Vinification of all the fruit together in stainless steel vats, and ageing in the same vats for 4–8 months.
