Ciliegiolo — Italian for “cherry” — and this wine wears the name well.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Ciliegiolo, sourced from the hills above Luni (La Spezia) in Liguria, Italy, where alternating sea and mountain breezes create a unique microclimate. Sandy, skeletal soils of medium texture sharpen the wine's aromatics — a once-minor blending grape now enjoying a renaissance as a varietal IGT wine.
Taste Profile: Brilliant ruby colour, with fragrant notes of red fruit — predominantly cherry — layered with spice and Mediterranean scrub. Soft and fruity on the palate with a refreshing touch; a versatile red that pairs as easily with pizza as with seafood.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-picked toward the end of August, briefly macerated on the skins for 3 days, then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months.
Winemaker: LVNAE was founded in 1966 by Paolo Bosoni, who turned his family’s long agricultural tradition toward winegrowing. Today it’s Liguria’s largest winery, producing over 500,000 bottles a year, still coordinated by Paolo alongside his brother Lucio, his wife Antonella Bertolla, and his children Diego and Debora Bosoni.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
