Bodegas Chaves is a family-owned winery that has been a pioneer of Albariño wines from the Rías Baixas region for generations.
Located in the Val do Salnés subregion, the heart of Albariño production, the winery is committed to creating wines that reflect the essence of the Atlantic terroir. Their vineyards are situated near the ocean, where the salty sea breeze, sunny days, and mineral soils combine to produce wines with refreshing acidity, depth, and a distinctive minerality.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Albarino from the Val de Salnes subregion of Riax Baixas in Galicia, Spain.
The Castel de Fornos Albariño is named after Bodegas Chaves's first vineyard, located on the slopes of Fornos. This vineyard, with vines over 70 years old, is considered a fertile ground for growing the finest Albariño grapes
Taste Profile: A fresh, fruity wine with aromas of pineapple, mango and citrus, lively acidity and a subtle saltiness, perfectly balanced and ideal with shellfish
Winemaking Process: The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported in small crates to the cellar. There, they are fermented at a controlled temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. Only the juice from the first pressing is used.
The wine is then aged for three months on the lees, which gives it additional complexity and creaminess. The wine is then stored in stainless steel tanks for another three months before being bottled

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
