Description

Milan Nestarec Barvirka 2021

From a planting of Dornfelder, a bold German-born hybrid, which they initally wanted to uproot and replace with Pinot Noir or Riesling. However, he lost the drive and the vines were in great shape!

Grape Varietals & Region: Dornfelder, Zweigelt, & a blend of white grapes local to the Moravia region of Croatia. The vineyards are on Loess & clay soils, planted in 2000.

Taste Profile: Fresh & juicy! It has low tannins, high colour, and high drinkability.

Winemaking Process: Grapes are sorted by hand, destemmed, and the free-run juice is fermented spontaneously for about 25 days in open top vats, followed by ageing in fibreglass tanks. No fining or filtration before bottling
