Weingut Claus Preisinger "Dope" Rosé 2022

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Blaufränkisch from Burgenland, Austria, farmed biodynamically on mainly limestone soils.
Taste Profile: A super fun rosé: reddish pink hue, with complex aromas of raspberry, smoky thyme and white pepper. Lively, clean palate with crunchy red fruit in the background, low in tannin and acidity, a tiny sparkle and a bit of funk on the nose, finishing with a berry aftertaste.
Winemaking Process: Fermented spontaneously with low intervention, aged 8 months in amphora and undergoing malolactic fermentation. Not filtered, with little SO2 added at bottling.
Winemaker: Claus Preisinger was born in 1980 in Eisenstadt and grew up helping his father, who farmed 3 hectares of vines in Burgenland. After studying at the viticultural school in Klosterneuburg and gaining experience in California and with Hans & Anita Nittnaus, he made his first wine at twenty and established his own estate in Gols in 2002, converting to biodynamics in 2006. Farming around 19 to 22 hectares across dozens of parcels on the Parndorfer Platte beside Lake Neusiedl, mostly indigenous varieties led by Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt, Preisinger uses no cultivated yeast and little to no sulphur, and is widely credited as the first Austrian to seriously champion Georgian qvevri and skin-contact whites — today regarded as one of the leading ambassadors of modern, natural Burgenland winemaking.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
